What is Canyon Dance Performing Company (CDPC)?
Company are groups of similarly skilled dancers that learn one dance in late summer and perform it at various events throughout the year. It was created to give dancers desiring more performance opportunities outside of our Winter Show and Spring Recital. We will be forming groups of 5 or more dancers in various styles and ages.

Who can participate in Company?
Anyone who has completed a level 1 class and up (age 7 by September).

How do you join Company?
Dancers are required to attend our Company Placement class on Monday, July 31st at the studio. Class is from 6-7 for dancers ages 7 (by September) to 11 (Arrive by 5:45 to sign in and register). For dancers 12 and up, class is from 7:00-8:00 (Arrive at 6:45 to sign in and register) To register and take the class, it is $10 per dancer. Parents, please do not plan on staying during this time as it will be too crowded… Dancers need to arrive in black dance clothes.

What is the time commitment?
Company runs from August through our spring recital. Companies will begin rehearsals in August and are arranged by the choreographer, who takes into account parent and dancer summer schedules. Once we start regular classes, dancers will need to attend a regular weekly technique class(es) determined by their company dance(s), as well as their company rehearsals (to be set). We invite our company groups to perform at and participate in a variety of events throughout the year, including Festival of Trees, BDTA’s Freeze Frame, basketball halftimes, 1-2 local competitions, and studio recitals.

How much does Company cost?
Company costs $150 per dance for the year. A $50 deposit is due in August. This does include their costume.

This does not include regular technique classes, tights, or shoes. Company dancers are required to purchase a company jacket (estimated to be about $50). This also does not include any registration fees for competitions.

**These placement classes are for performance groups of 4 or more. Any solos, duos, or trios are separate from the company.**

Which styles of dance are you interested in for performing company?

Indicate with a number between 1 and 5, 1 being the most sincere. Indicate with an "N" for those styles you have no interest in.

Those interested in Tap will be considered separately from Company Placement Class; and those interested in only Tap, and tap alone, need not attend Company Placement, but need to email the studio: hello@canyondanceacademy.com.

**Company dancers must also take regular technique classes in the style most like their company group. Those in lyrical group must take ballet; and those in contemporary group must take jazz.

We will make every attempt to find at least one dance for everyone. The number of dances we can offer will depend on the dancer's interest. We are not able to make groups of less than 4.

**Marking a number does not guarantee that is what will be offered**

Please remember that this is a 10-month commitment to attend all rehearsals(summer and monthly thoroughout the year), performances, and competitions. It is unfair to the group, if you dancer does not attend as expected.
