Laryssa Rice

Laryssa Rice started her ballet training in Eastern Oregon at age 3. She moved to Boise as a young teen to attend dance classes at BSU under the direction of Marla Hansen and Capitol City Youth Ballet under the direction of Sara Phipps.  While attending BSU, she danced with Idaho Dance Theater and many student repertory performances, where she was able to work with different choreographers and dancers. Laryssa also won scholarships to dance intensives, such as Summer Dancefest, Summer Dance Lab and CSI/IDAA camps. While attending a camp, Laryssa was recruited to join Sacramento Ballet in California.  She accepted and danced with Sacramento Ballet for two seasons, before moving back to Idaho to teach dance. She has taught at many studios in the Treasure Valley and is very happy to be teaching at Canyon Dance Academy. Laryssa recently got married to the love of her life and is happily raising their 6 children with him.

Pariss Paul

Pariss is an Idaho native, raised in Nampa, ID, and began dancing at age 3. Her early training includes dancing with Dance Dimensions in Boise, and then she continued the majority of her training at the Kennedy School of Dance in Nampa.

Pariss was a member of the Skyview Blue Angels Dance Team from 2007 – 2011, where her team won two state championships.

She also competed with the Elite Dance Company throughout high school, along with competing in various solo competitions.

After high school, Pariss danced for the Idaho Stampede Spirit Dance team for 3 years and has also choreographed and taught for different studios in the area.

Currently, Pariss is a dancer, choreographer, and Assistant Director for Fuse Dance Collaboration, a local adult dance company.

Pariss graduated from Boise State University in 2015, earning a B.A. in Communication. She is happily married to her husband and they are proud fur parents to the sweetest pup.

Dani was born and raised in Boise, Idaho. She began dancing at the age of three and has not stopped since. Dani trained at local studios in Boise, where she competed in various competitions in the northwest and performed at many local community events. Dani received her undergraduate degree from Boise State University in Mechanical Engineering in December of 2019. During this time, she continued her dance education with Marla Hansen, Yurek Hansen, and Jaime Moore-McLean and spent four years as a company member of Focus Dance Ensemble, a pre-professional primarily contemporary company. Dani has also been on F.U.S.E. Dance Collaboration, an all-styles professional dance company since 2016, becoming Assistant Director in 2019. In the past, Dani has had the opportunity to perform at events like Boise Music Festival, Boise Pride Festival, IDEO conference, and many other community outreach events. She has also been in Josiah Savino’s Music video for his single, “One Time Lover” and a short-film “Mortality’s Fixation” for the Idaho Screen Dance Festival. Her choreography has also been featured at various events including Boise Pride Festival, Harlem Globetrotters Basketball Game (Halftime Performance), and other community events. Dani has been teaching dance since 2015 both at local studios and high schools where she has had the opportunity to help with the competition dancers as well as teach recreational classes and technique. Every year she falls more in love with dance and passing on her knowledge as a teacher and is excited for a new experience at Canyon Dance Academy!

Kimberly Nichole Johnson has been teaching for over a decade with a strong foundation in classical ballet, classical music, early childhood education, and group exercise. She founded Barre Remedy Outreach in 2016 to expand on the dance and fitness opportunities for the Canyon County community and has taught private violin lessons since 2014. Prior to teaching music and dance, she worked in early childhood education. Kimberly is an ABT® Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 3. She has received additional teacher training from Runqiao Du Ballet Coaching, the Suzuki Association Of The Americas as well as from Patricia Blair with Ballet Chicago. Kimberly holds certifications in Progressing Ballet Technique, American Barre Technique as well as Principles of Dance, Dancer Injury Prevention, Dancer Nutrition, and Pre Pointe Assessment through NDEO and Harkness Center for Dance Injuries.

Although Kimberly has studied at a number of different studios, she has spent the last eight years training at Ballet Idaho with the Adult Division where she is currently a teacher for the Learning Through Dance Outreach Program, the Adult Foundational Workshop, and the Children’s Division. She also teaches Ballet and PBT at Dance Unlimited. Kimberly has guest taught for Manoa Dance Studio HI and has choreographed for Explore Dance Company, Dance Unlimited, and Barre Remedy. She has assisted as an admin for Kathryn Morgan’s Online Community since 2018.

Kimberly is excited to teach pre-pointe, beginning pointe, and pointe at Canyon Dance Academy. When she is not teaching, she is playing music with her husband, spending time with her three children, or playing with her two huskies.
